Why a harness for a small dog
Small breeds have delicate necks and tracheas, so a collar that tugs on every pull isn’t ideal. A harness spreads the pressure across the chest and shoulders instead.
How to get the right fit
Measure first: wrap a soft tape around the widest part of the chest, just behind the front legs, and check the brand’s size chart. Very small dogs often fall between sizes, so pick the one where your measurement sits in the middle.
Two-finger rule: you should fit two fingers under any strap. Snug enough that they can’t back out, loose enough that it doesn’t rub.
Front or back clip: a back ring is comfortable for relaxed walkers. A front clip, like the Easy Walk’s, helps steer a dog that pulls.
